Why two power inputs?

Hi,
I bought a GTX 980 TI. There are two plugs on top of the Board inside the computer case. They look like a power inputs(8 pin each). Why two power inputs? Zotac manual and sight are not helpful, I am new to this. Also it says up to win 8 and I am using 10. Can someone help me?

It needs more power than what the PCIe slot can supply so it needs extra power from the PSU.

As for the Windows 8 thing, it'll work just fine in Windows 10.

You use both. And it will work fine on win10.

thx , so even though there are two plugs at the end of the power line, you are saying use two line, not one?

Plug an 8 pin from your power supply into each of those, yes.
