I have Fios Gig service. I bypassed g1100 completely and use Google Wifi as main router so ONT to Google Wifi. Out of the Google Wifi ethernet out to unmanaged switch. From unmanaged switch go to another Google Wifi access point.
Scenarios:
Laptop connected
- directly from ONT - 96Mbs
- from switch - 96Mbs
- Google Wifi ethernet out - 96Mbs
  • From Google Wifi connected through Wifi - 350Mbs
  • From 2nd Google access point Ethernet out - 96Mbs
  • From 2nd Google access point Wifi - 350Mbs
I have tried this with 3 different laptops all claiming to have network cards that support 1gig ethernet. I am soooooo confused.
I have also tried
changing to Google DNS
switching Google Wifi points to test the ethernet out
