Question Why will laptop not boot with more RAM?

I have recently dug out and started using an old ASUS Eee PC 1005PE laptop. It is quite slow and therefore I have attempted upgrading it from its current 1 GB of DDR2 RAM to 2 GB. All specifications i have happened upon say it is capable of supporting 2 GB, but it will not boot once I upgrade the memory.

Does anyone here know why this could be the case (and if it's fixable)?

Do you make sure your configured your RAM properly? Make sure it is properly with carefully, then talk with me.
