Today I just bought and installed an Aluratek 1080P HD Webcam on my desktop. I'm running Win7 Ultimate OS, Nortons Lifelock, and I can't get the camera to work. I tried plugging the camera into several different USB ports, turning off the firewall, I even watched several different Youtube videos and tried what they suggested but so far no luck. Can anyone offer a fix for this problem? (Duh, what am I missing?)

Solution
I finally figured out the problem. Over in the upper right corner of the ISP page is a pull down menu, "Settings and more" (Alt-F). I selected the "Web Capture" and allowed my camera. I turned off the "Block Camera" and everything started working. Cameras works now. HORAY!!!

What you are missing is drivers. Can you see it or at least #Unknown device" id Hardware manager ?

Its probably the software that you want to use the cam (Skype or whatever its called these days) with that needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled. if drivers and everything else is in order. ( Check if your copy of windows is activated)
