I have about £600 for a new cpu, case, coolers and motherboard. If there is any left over i will buy an RX480 to use in crossfire.

Looking at reviews i found the i7 6700k to be the best but i found a very attractive looking AMD FX-8350 at a significantly cheaper price.

Why would i buy one over the other? Should i get a better CPU? Whats a good motherboard?

8320e is 90 bucks and you don't need an additional air cooler.

if you go for intel dont listen to anyone and go for cheap mobo.its stupid.you buy an expensive cheap and you throw it in a cheap mobo to cut off money??why? in terms of performance intel is better but the fx is still able to handle everything and it will be for atleast 2-3 years more

lol.i wasn t talkig about z170 bcs they aren t cheap...and if u want to oc then u have to buy a z170 mobo so...i ve read plenty of reviews and did a lot of research just to be sure what is best to buy for the money i can spend.

I wouldnt use the stock cooler on any of the AMD FX chips, its garbage.

Agree.
So, I spent what would be $110, for Z170, 6x USB3, front panel USB3, decent onboard, 6+2+1 power phase, VRM cooling and M2 slot. Allowing for skylake k-chips in m-atx format.

Agree 1 year ago it was silly money for that kind of stuff.... but that is A LOT of stuff for the money. Also thunderbolt header as well.
