widescreen monitor + standard monitor?

I am simply wondering that if i get a widescreen streched monitor, should i keep my standard 16:9 24" monitor and use them both as a dual monitor setup or should i simply just use the widescreen alone monitor??

That's entirely up to you and if you need another one. I have 3 monitors and each one has it's uses.

Do you recommend stacked or side by side? im thinking of a Asus ROG Swift PG348Q or a Acer Predator X34A and what's the difference between the two monitors other than price?

I use a 24" one to the right of main 29", mainly to do secondary work done on main screen. Like for instance doing graphics for Desktop publisher or doing calculations for CAD while they are on main screen. Third monitor is ate top left above main and mainly displays computer information and doubles as monitor for security cameras.
If using main monitor for games, you can always put secondary things like performance monitoring and/or communication programs. Use for things like that uses very little resources.
