Wierd memory amount in GTX 295

Hey all, just got my gpu running today and im noticing something it has 2655mb of video memory. I have only heard of this gpu having 1792mb of memory, is my card special or something?

no that is the correct amount for the card. it's 896MB of ram per gpu giving the total of 1792MB.

oh thats DX using system ram as part of a larger ram pool. totally normal.
