Question wifi card ar9285 not working on windows 10 home

network and internet ->
status -> view your network properties
In the list it says
ar9285 wireless network adapter
Isn't that the name of the build in
wifi card?

network and internet -> status ->
change adapter options
No wifi card displays. Only an ethernet connection displays.
Shouldn't the wifi card be displayed?
A wifi card does also not display at
device manager ->
network adapters

Is there a command to search
for a wifi card?

Is this the Lenovo T400?

Since tis not officially supported to work with win 10, there aren't any lenovo drivers for it. This might have been the win 7 driver but it won't work on win 10 - https://support.lenovo.com/us/it/do...apter-ii-for-windows-7-32-bit-64-bit-thinkpad

Having said that, i am pretty sure it should still show in device manager, even if its the bottom as an unknown device. You could try clicking View/Show hidden devices

is this a laptop

It is a msi x360.
I have not managed to disassemble
the computer in order to get to
know which wifi card it has.

View/Show hidden devices

It lists
ar9285 wireless network adapter.
Device status. General. Not connected code 45. Driver.
Says 1/29/16. Version 3.0.2.202.
Running update driver returns message, newest
driver is already installed.

According to your link
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=AR9285
there is a driver version
7/18/16 version 10.0.0.344.
Downloading the cab file and extracting
it displays 4 files.
athw10.cat athw10.inf athw10.pdb athw10.sys
Is the athw10.sys file the one to install in
divice manager -> ar9285 properties ->
driver -> update driver ->
browse computer for driver software?
