Hi
I plan to buy an used Asus H81I Plus motherboard to mount a slim desktop. I intend to use the wireless internet, essentially to surf and watch movies. As this motherboard does not have built-in wifi and has no Pcie slot to put a wifi card, I thought to use a standard wifi pen drive or a pen drive with an antenna. The desktop will be sometimes about 4/5 meters from the router (which has no antenna) and with two or three walls by the middle of the signal.
So, can I easily use the web using one of these pen drives, or is it better to buy a motherboard with integrated wifi? Or should I buy a mini atx and use a wifi card in the pcie slot? The motherboard I want to buy is a good deal. What is your opinion?
Thanks

Hello.

USB WIFI adapters are as good as internal PCIE cards, if not better sometimes. You will easily be able to use the web or play games with these USB adapters.

Just choose one from a well reputed company and has an antenna, as two or three walls may be an issue with a model with no antenna.
This is a good example:

If the antenna is awkward, or too long, use a USB extension.

Solution
So you think that this solution is a better solution than the wifi card?
I had read references about this USB WIFI pen drive, but some users say it does not work very well on Windows 10 and an USB wifi pen drive is always working, even when the PC is at sleep, "stealing" signal to other pcs. Do you know if this happens?

I'm using a USB pen drive right now with windows 10, and no issues. If you are unsure, get one with "compatible with windows 10" in it's description by the manufacturer.

As for stealing signal in sleep, that is groundless. The only way your signal can be stolen is for your router password to be known. The adapter might stay on, but there is no use of the WiFi signals at all.
