WiFi..... half works???

So basically, I can surf the web, message friends via Discord etc. When I try to call people on Discord, I get 'No Route'. I cannot connect in online mode to steam, or join a multiplayer game in anything (i even tried minecraft, without luck!). So, I've tried unplugging my USB WiFi adapter, restarting my PC, disconnecting then reconnecting from WiFi, and resetting the router, all without luck. Ethernet is not an option for me, so I have no idea what to do! Please help!!

Is this your wireless connection? If it isn't something on that network might be blocking you playing online games or using services like discord. Do you have another computer or game console? If so does it work on any of those devices?

I've tried it on my laptop, and it still cannot connect to any of the services I mentioned above.

Is this your wireless connection? Are you sure you aren't being blocked? It sounds like you are trying to connect to a school's or business's WiFi that is blocking things like the ability to connect to a game server.

This is your connection and your router? You put yourself on a 10.224.0.1 subnet? With a mask of 255.244.0.0? I'm sorry but I doubt that. This looks like a rather large wifi network for a business or something. You are probably being blocked.

My bad! There is xfninitywifi for me and I was looking at the difference in ipconfig's. Accidentally sent the wrong screenshot. Here is the real one with my WiFi.

When you can surf the web it means most things are correctly configured. If it was something simple like subnet mask nothing would work.

So first I notice that IPv6 is active. Most ISP do not support this but if you have one that does you may be using ipv6 connections. IPv6 is not supported by many things so it is not uncommon for some to work and other not to. It should switch to ipv4 for those things but not always.

I would try to disable the ipv6 support in the wifi nic settings.

The other common thing that causes this is the firewall on your machine. Many times it will set the network type incorrect and decide that your pc is directly on the internet rather than on a home lan. It by default puts in different rules. Many times only web surfing works no other ports are allowed. I would see if disabling the windows firewall temporarily makes any difference.

It could also be things like proxy or vpn if you have ever installed either of those, many times they do not uninstall cleanly.
