did you connect the antenna to the motherboard? try different places for the antenna, maybe turning it could get you better connectivity.
Check the connection speed in windows

is the firewall of windows set to private? public would be wrong

reinstall/update the wifi driver
update the motherboard´s bios

i actually dont have antennas for the wifi card, both firewalls for private and public are on but its active for public. how do i reinstall/update the wifi drivers and update the motherboard bios?

Most times desktop computers have antenna on the back of the case.

There are generally 2 gold connectors you must screw antenna onto. If you did not then that would explain the poor performance.

If antenna are mounted try to turn the computer so the antenna face more toward the router. The metal case will block a lot of wifi signals.

Even though you are not using Ethernet, doublecheck that the Ethenet card is not enabled.

Another thing that can be done is to use wireless antenna extension cables to further raise up and reorient the antenna toward the router.

Run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt. Copy and paste the results herein.

May reveal some other problem or issue.

Make and model modem and router (or modem/router if combined)?

Do they belong to your ISP or you?

Three things to do:

- Disable IPv6

- Change the DNS Servers to Google at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

- Run "tracert 8.8.8.8" via the command prompt.

Targets Googles server - objective being to determine devices between your pc and Google.

Modem model is BGW320-500, it belongs to ISP AT&T
IPv6 was already disabled
This is what im getting for the tracert
1 2 ms 1 ms 5 ms
2 3 ms 4 ms 3 ms
3 46 ms 10 ms 6 ms
4 * * * Request timed out.
5 * * * Request timed out.
6 * * * Request timed out.
7 * * * Request timed out.
8 16 ms 16 ms 21 ms
9 10 ms 10 ms 9 ms
10 20 ms 15 ms 13 ms
11 8 ms 11 ms 16 ms
12 10 ms 12 ms 12 ms
13 8 ms 9 ms 9 ms

I'm still stuck on 1-2 bars, nothing seems to get better, I think it got even worse I get 1 bar more frequently instead of 2.
I tried updating the wifi driver, I don't think it worked because I see this in the events tab
Device PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_C821&SUBSYS_87AE1043&REV_00\6&164ce072&0&0040020A had a problem starting.

You are not the first person to post here that did not attach the antenna. Even people that assemble their own machine forget to do it even though the antenna are in the motherboard box. With a prebuilt most people think you plug it in and you are good to go.
