WIFI issue, one computer fast one slow, faster upload than download

Okay so my girlfriends macbook is getting 50 download and 50mpbs upload, in every room(same with more walls between the router than my desktop).

My desktop with usb wifi adapter was getting ~12 download and 16 upload (frustrating as i game and stream and she doesn't lol)

So figured it could be the old adapter/it was bent a little lol, went and bought a Netgear N600 usb wifi adapter, now I'm getting 19 download and 38 upload.
What gives!? Why is the macbook pulling 50/50 and I'm at 19/38. Why is my upload so much faster.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try booting into safe mode see if the speed changes. sometime it can be a program or anti virus that can change network speed.

Problem was my wifi device, i bought a higher quality one and got better bandwidth but not worth the cost...

I ended up moving around that time and set up my router at the new residence at my desk..... MAX SPEEDS BABY

So ultimately its the quality of the wifi receiver as well as wired is always way better.
