Wifi issue with new NETGEAR router

All of my devices, like iPads and TVs can find both speeds of my router, 3G and 5g. But my HP with W8 only finds the slower 3G. Any ideas?

Your (I assume laptop) may not have a dual band WIFI card. You have to specifically look for dual band wireless in a laptop. Many people get confused and assume that wireless N implies dual band. It does not. WIFI can be 2.4Ghz ONLY and still be wireless N. You would probably have to change hardware to get the 5Ghz wireless.
