Question WiFi Keeps Crapping Out

My WiFi keeps crapping out lately and the only way I can connect to the router again is by restarting the PC. Otherwise I just get a message "cannot connect to this network".

I don't think it's an issue with my router because my phone can connect to it just fine during this time. I already checked to make sure I have the most recent drivers downloaded for my card. The router is from my ISP and has no branding so I have no idea what it is other than its a WiFi 6 router.

Edit: Yes, I checked device manager and don't see any issues showing up for the networking.

The motherboard you've linked above, doesn't have WiFi on it. Are you;
a| using Ethernet
or
b| using an USB driven WiFi adapter to gain WiFi accessibility?

If you are indeed working with an adapter, what is the make and model of said adapter? What BIOS version are you working with for your motherboard?

No I am using the motherboard.


You're right it doesn't have wifi. I'll post back soon.

I updated the drivers again, since apparently what I updated before must have been the Ethernet since I got it from ASUS.

I'll post back if it still has the same problem.

I asked the TP-Link support this is what they said is the problem:

Device Manager > Network Adapters > TP-Link Wireless > Properties > Power Management > Uncheck "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power"

It seems to be working fine now.

Not sure why that option would ever be set on a desktop machine. On a laptop of course you want anything you are not actually using off to increase battery life but a wifi nic card uses very little poweR. i bet the case fans use more on desktop machine.

I don't know, ask Microsoft. This was a clean install from an OEM disc about a month ago, and I checked my other computer it the same option was set by default.
