Hello, I'm new to Tom's Hardware so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask.

Here is my problem:

I have an Asus Vivobook S550-CM and it doesn't connect to the internet anymore.

My laptop is always in my room, I always browse the internet from there, the internet could reach it and I can do pretty much anything in my room. The router is situated in the living room which is about 15 steps away from my room.

One day, when I was about to connect, there aren't any wireless networks, I restarted, still nothing, I got closer to the router and now it works again. I tried moving the router closer to my room and a little bit higher in altitude and now it reaches my room but my laptop says "Limited" when it's connected.

Secondly, My phone and other devices and laptops can connect to the router from my room and even further.

Any response would be appreciated, thank you!

* It used to reach my room
* My network chip is: qualcomm atheros ar9485wb-eg
* I already reformatted my laptop and nothing happened.
* My laptop is still fairly new so I don't think it's a hardware issue rather a software issue.

Thanks again for the response but I would consider that as a last resort, isn't there another way? What could have caused this? It worked before, there might be a way to revert right?
