My work laptop constantly being dropped from my wifi connection, which causes me to have to log into VPN over and over again. My partners work laptop never has this issue and either does our personal Mac. The router was supplied by Spectrum Cable. Any assistance would be appreciated...also know that I am not very technical. Thank you.

This happens throughout the day sporadically, but can happen many times. The other laptop that connects via VPN never drops.

It isn't a new thing, but definitely began when Spectrum give me the new modem. Maybe I should have them change it and that would help.

It is very frustrating.

Thanks for the reply

The other laptop continues problem free even though both laptops use Sprectrum? Do you connect through a VPN built into your current network device or is it a 3rd party application? If so, do you get to choose whether it is a TCP or UDP connection? Are there any logging options for the application?

Both laptops use the Spectrum modem and wifi account. They both have CISCO VPN installed from our companies. There isn't anything for me to change on CISCO VPN and I don't have access to update my computer systems.

Perhaps shoot your IT contact a quick email. There may be a keep-alive or time-out function they have accidentally assigned to your account versus your partner's. Have you tried logging in from his laptop while he uses yours?

Thanks SirSub42. I will contact my IT to see if they can assist. Will have to wait until next week as I am traveling, but I will let you know if it works.

Only I can use my laptop, so my partner cannot log in.

Thanks again... I will keep you posted
