Question Wifi roaming apps like SWIFI for IOS

tldr; i put a new cheap access point, with a different ssid so my phone, using a wifi roaming app could have more wifi range.

I have a galaxy s9, and SWIFI works almost flawlessly for me.
My sister on the other hand has an Iphone Xs, on which I could not find any wifi roaming apps.

If you search them on the app store all that pops up are 1. wifi analyzers and 2. travel wifi (they know which people buy iphones alright.)
I searched on google and all that pops up is apple.com claiming the iphone has 802.11R and 802.11K support, which i still can't understand what they do.

Anyway, I would like to find an app that would help me roam between wireless networks, or a way to get that without buying an expensive mesh network, or a less expensive, but still costly, good access point.
(The access point i put is a Tl-802 smthn smthn from TP-Link. its almost 100% provided by an old ISP or something. Its been sitting on a shelf for a couple years.)

Roaming is not really part of wifi like a cell network. The end clients and not the network are in control so nothing works very well. 802.11r etc only partially works.

Your best option is to set the SSID the same and if the devices do not change just stop and start the wifi. That is all the so called mesh networks do, they just force a disconnect and the end devices sometimes still connect to the wrong radio source.

There is very little need for seamless roaming. You the end user generally know when there is a better source available and it only takes a second to force it to switch.

I understand that, and that's all good and stuff, but its a hassle for my purpose since its just between my living room and kitchen, since the wifi on the provided router is not amazing, and i have thick concrete walls in my house.
So I understand that roaming is not a feature you would usually find in most systems (that aren't mesh), but I found a way to enable it using an app on android
Is there a way to do the same thing on IOS?
