Wifi to router

Hello,
I a "mi-fi" hot spot for my internet access on my laptop. I have a desktop that I would like to connect to the internet, but it does not have internal wifi. I have a linkys router that I thought I could connect to the desktop with the cable and it would pick up the hot spot. Can anyone please tell me how I get this to work?

I'm afraid that won't work but a simple wireless dongle - less than £6 or $5 on e-Bay - will do the trick quite well.[/#000ff]

You need to load a 3rd party firmware (ie: dd-wrt) and convert the Linksys to a wireless bridge.
