WiFi too slow, download speed WAY slower than WiFi speed.

My WiFi should be 200 mbps. For a long time the speed has been far slower than that. As of my last test, today, the WiFi clocked in at 50 mbps. But, 50 mbps is still pretty decent, and enough for me.

Yesterday I downloaded World of Warships, and the installer clocked my download speed at 2.5 mbps. It took a few hours, but the game finally installed. Currently I'm downloading World of Tanks, and the downloader for World of Tanks is clocking the speed at 100 kbps.

TL;DR Wifi speed should be 200 mbps, is 50 mbps, download speed was 2.5 mbps yesterday, and is 100 kbps today.

What could be wrong, and how can I fix it?

Thanks.

It also depends on the cards.
For example my router can deliver 200mbps via WiFi
However my phone's WiFi doesn't go faster than 50mbps
My internet connection is a 100mbps.one so I effectively can only use half of that with my phone.

Furthermore with WiFi there are a lot of variables influencing the speed (Channel, frequency, walls, other devices, microwaves)
If you are actually paying for fast 200mbps internet service, then you should be aware that the internet depends on the weakest link which may well be the speed of the server at the other end.

In general you will never see wifi transfer actual data at more than half its rated speed. For example at 20MHz wide 2.4GHz with a single antenna, the maximum theoretical speed is 72mbps and 36mbps actual is pretty good.

You also have to be really careful with your capitals, because 8 b = 1 B. So if you are actually downloading at 2.5mBps that's the same as 20mbps.

I did mix up my Bs. I was downloading at 20 MBs yesterday, but it's still only 100 KBs today, 1/20th of yesterday's speed.
