i want to know since i have one of the worst connections speeds 1.7 down and .4 upload that if i connect through ethernet will it be faster, and how much?

Solution
Always go with an ethernet cable when given the option. Wireless is typically your last resort for desktop, or laptop/phone connection.
Ethernet is more stable and gives direct connections to your ISP.

yes i can wire it but i dont want to if its only going to give me like .2 download speed more

Since your internet is so slow almost any wifi will be more than fast enough.

Wifi is more variable than ethernet.
Differing speeds between computer and router, distance and blockage to signal, interference from other devices.
A combination of these can severely cripple speeds and reliability.

You're getting ~1.7Mb/s
Slow wifi will run at maybe 50Mb/s, fast ~1,000Mb/s.

Wired direct to the router will not affect the speed from your ISP at all.
WiFi might.

There are a lot of variables to this question.
