Will 16GB of ram make any difference?

So I plan on building my first PC and first thought of getting 8GB of ram but I may get 16GB instead.

My question is will 16GB of ram improve anything over 8GB and is it really worth it?

I also already know that it doesn't improve that much in games.

A couple months ago i'd have said no but starting to see 6gb recommended to game so saturating 8gb may not be far off. If you can afford 16 think i would.

As long as your system doesn't exceed the 8 GB, you can settle for that. Although I personally, prefer having a lot of RAM, so I'd get 16 GB.

Right now, you'll be fine. For just gaming, 8GB will be enough for..a while.

8gb will be good for a long time. There is no foreseeable future where 16gb makes any difference in games.

Don't even bother with 16gb for gaming. A waste.

8GB ram and above there is no difference. whatever if you wanna make it 16gb now its okay you will be ready for future games and not worrying at the rams. its up to you.

Well, besides gaming, having more DRAM is very useful for multi-tasking and using memory intensive apps/large data sets, etc - even in gaming it can help if you are one that has numerous other apps and things running while you are gaming
