i am making my new gaming rig and wanted to know will gigabyte ga 78lmt usb mobo will support
1866mhz ram without downgrading to 1600mhz. i have also heard that few people are getting 1333mhz by default since the mobo vendor confirms it can run 1600mhz with no problem.

Solution
I've used the board a lot in the past & never seen it run ram at 1866mhz.

It'll default to 1333mhz in bios automatically.

To get 1600mhz you need to enter speed & timings manually in the BIOS.

Easytune 6 doesn't alter bios settings - its software based only .

YES! I have same board. It is running Kingston HyperX fury @ 1866. But it did not post that way. Originally when i built it, i had to use the utility that came on the MOBO install disk. It is called "EasyTune6" Install that utility, click on tuner tab, click advanced, change memory from 1600 or what ever it is posting @ to 1866. save. reboot.
My GA-79LMT- USB3 posts DDR3 1866. You can change this in the BIOS or use the utility. IMO the utility is easier. Confirmed with CPUz.
I don't know why other posters are saying no but... mine does. If you cant get yours to post and run @ 1866... hit me up and ill check my BIOS for you.

Checked again for error correction: Open ET6, click on tune, click on advanced, move memory slider to default. restart computer. Bios post memory running @ 1600. UNGAN . start windows, open ET6 click tuner, click advanced, move slider to 1866 (or where ever you want) SAVE. exit. restart computer. Computer Posts 1866. Checked one other thing. restart computer, enter bios, checked that memory was actually running @ 1866. It is! Checked CPUz - 1866. checked Ntune - 1866
CPUID CPUZ MSI - 1866. next ill run a microshaft score against the 2 settings and see if I get abetter score

"Easytune 6 doesn't alter bios settings - its software based only" if this is true... then how does the BIOS post 1866 before ANYTHING on the HDD is loaded? Just trying to understand : )
Maybe..... ET6 directly alters and saves the value in the BIOS. ET6 is after all bundled with the mobo
