Will 1866Mhz RAM work with my intel i7 4790k

Hey guys i have a question about RAM

i just bought a i7 4790K and was wondering if my 8GB (2x 4GB) (F3-14900CL9-4GBSR ) 1866Mhz G.Skill Sniper RAM will work with my system the RAM is currently being used in a AMD FX-8350

RAM depends a lot more on motherboard and yes it will work with 4790K.

It's your motherboard that will decide if it will run at 1866 or not. If not it will just underclock to the standard 1333mhz.

Yes that Sniper ram should work no problem.

Yes no problem what so ever, in fact can prob fairly easily run them at 2133 if so desired 😉

Should be fine. Don't worry if your ram model no. isn't in the motherboards approved memory list, they dont always test everything so its not necessarily an indication of a problem.

I'm using 4790K on Asus Z97 Pro with 32gb (4x8gb) Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866 CL9 ram populating all the slots. It wasn't on the list of approved yet the 16gb pack of same time was which made me a little worried. So I contact Asus support and they said they just dont have time to test every single combo so it should be ok.

So far seems to be fine, Prime95 tests check out and I've ran memtest86 multiple passes all ok.

When you get your ram just set the XMP Profile in Bios first, then run a memtest86 to check.
