will 1x8 gb ram works fine on z97x soc force

hello guys,
my rig:
z97x soc force
i7 4770
just wanna know will a 1x8 gb kingston fury x works fine on my mobo?
as i see everyone use 2x8gb or 2x4gb can someone please answer my question for some reason i cant buy another ram so p lease help me.

1x8GB should work, people just usually use 2 or 4 DIMMs to take advantage of running the memory in dual channel mode - if you only have a single stick of RAM it will run in single channel so will be slightly slower
