trying to put together a new build (last one was 2500k in 2011). I am looking at getting at least the following: 3900x , x570 mobo (aorus elite), 5700xt, and of course, rams, couple of my old SSDs and a new m.2 pcie nvme ssd.

there is this EVGA 550w PSU from my old system that runs perfectly fine. can i get away with it? or i need more juice to power the new techs?

thx !!

Wants all new parts except PSU. People have an interesting mind set about power supplies.

"Can't bench mark it -- Can't be better."

"Still works -- Must be fine."

You know how it is. ;)

People telling people things like that and this:

"I still have PSU's that I have been using for 20 years"

"PSU's last forever"

And so on with other very bad advice..... ;)

It's a evga bronze 550w I bought 4 months ago so....I need to replace it ?

You didn't say that. You said your build was from 2011 and that your "old system" (which we assumed was the 2011 build) had an EVGA 550W.

For the record: "BRONZE" is not a model name. EVGA has a varying range of Bronze products from crappy to great. And each one has a model name. Please refrain from calling a PSU "BRONZE" just because it has Bronze efficiency.

Looks like I got even the bronze part wrong lol. Here, it's a EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3 550W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply.

Thanks a lot for helping!
