First of all, I don't know anything about dual channel or SODIMM. Forgive me.
I'm bought this laptop Asus R558UQ-DM513D today and it is just 4GB which is soldered on the machine. I want to play some modern games at low settings and I realized 8GB is minimum for playable gameplay.
Is it okay to add 8GB to this laptop (Max Exp is 12GB) ? I read in some forums it's not good to use different capacity RAMs together.
Specs:
3.1GHz Intel Core i5-7200U 7th Gen processor
4GB DDR4 RAM 2133MHz
1TB 5400rpm Serial ATA hard drive
15.6-inch screen, Nvidia GeForce 940MX 2GB Graphics
