Will a 5850 video card fit into mid size tower

Solution

No current 5870 is 9 inches long. Check your facts or you'll find yourself buying a new case. I think you're talking about the 5850... and if that is the case, then yes... those 2 power connectors are on the end. For me those two cables just extended into my drive cage... nothing major. A 5850 should fit in MOST any mid-size case... the 5870? Some mids will accommodate it, but a lot won't. My CoolerMaster Scout would not have held a 5870 without some "modifications" I opted for the 5850... that was plenty for my needs.

You've been warned.

If you list your specific case, someone could confirm that it'll fit. The 5850 really is a sweet card if you can find one... and although I haven't pushed mine, all indications are that they overclock easily (if that's what you're into)

Thanks, I currently have 2-4850s in cossfire and want to upgrade. The 5870 with power connecter would hit the hard drive bay. I think I will put two 5850 or 5770 in there.

I now have 2 4850 cards and want to upgrade to one single card or 2 cards in crossfire. The 4870 would hit my hard drive bay and I dont thing that is good. I have the velocity micro case.
