Will a 600w PSU be able to power up this build i purchased

16 GB DDR4 2133 (2x8GB)
Intel i5 6600k 3.5 ghz
gigabyte z170x-gaming3
xfx amd radeon r9 390 8gb

the build also has

240 GB SSD
500 GB HDD 7200 RPM
dvd drive
and like 4 fans

So the question is will a 600w bronze PSU be able to handle all the components I have purchased and what is already in it?

If it is a quality PSU, yes, 600W is enough to power your system. If, on the other hand, the quality is not there or the PSU is of dubious design, it may not actually be able to produce the wattage it claims. This thread may help http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Again, it will depend on the quality of the PSU... and the +12V rail specs.

Do not use the cx600w psu it died the 2nd day I got my r9 390 and I ordered a 750 watt so don't make the same mistake as me. I have the same specs but with an I7

A PSU dying in two days is usually a fault with it. I'm not saying CX is good quality, because it's not, but people's CXs do last for a couple or few years, so whenever a PSU dies this quickly something went wrong in the factory. There are so many little things that could go wrong and cause this.

Anyway, yeah if you got a Coolmax 600W or something like a Logisys no you can't use it @OP.
