Will a 60gb SSD do?

Yes it'll be enough. Just make sure To keep downloads and all programs out of there

When saving documents, they must go to the 1TB. Downloaded games must go to 1TB of course.
Which I'm sure you already know.

My first SSD was around 64GB... so it's entirely possible to use that. However, there are are things you need to adjust.

First, you need to RELOCATE the following folders to the HDD:
Music
Pictures
Videos

These folders can also be optionally moved to the other drive:
Saved Games
Downloads
Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive
Documents
Also, you'll need to create another folder on the HDD and call it something like Program Files or Games... or any name you want.. and install all your Games and other misc. programs you want to install.

As for your SSD.... you can install your O/S, Browsers, Media Players, Drivers, Hardware software for Keyboard, mouse, webcam... Printer Software... Photo Editor.

On a fully loaded system you will be ok.

I'm going to contradict the accepted answer and say NO.
I have the same setup - 60GB SSD with a 1 TB Hard drive and I am now needing to buy a larger SSD as the one I have continually runs out of space (I actually came across this thread while researching which SSD to upgrade to!).
I have all of my default save folders on the 1 TB hard drive, as well as all my games, programs etc. Only a couple of programs I use very often on my SSD like Skype & Firefox.
I have had my PC for two and a half years, so it has lasted till now, and could probably squeeze a little bit more out of it by relocating the above programs, but sooner or later going to need to upgrade I think - since updating programs, drivers, hotfixes etc slowly eat away at that space.
I'd say it's worth spending that little bit extra (getting 120GB SSD) and not living life on the edge so to speak, having to keep clearing stuff from the SSD because you have 1mb free!
But if not 60GB should last for a few years at least if following the steps mentioned by SBMfromLA.

There is one flaw in your argument... You are assuming the 60GB drive is a future purchase. It could be an SSD the user already has or was given to him for free and he could be inquiring whether or not it would be worth it to use it.

However, I will agree that IF GIVEN THE CHOICE on buying a new SSD, a larger capacity should be bought. I woudln't go under 250GB.
