will a 7.1 surround audio USB gaming headset work properly with an old motherboard ?

Hi,

i want to know if there will be any compatibility issues between a USB 7.1 surround audio gaming headset and a motherboard *biostar g41d3c*
(mobo: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=518#specification ).

and will it give me the full experience of virtual surround audio in gaming ?

if it's a USB gaming headset it most likely has a built-in soundcard and doesn't depend on your motherboard
if it's a truely analogue 7.1 headset - which I doubt - it won't work since your VIA Audio Chip is only 5.1

so how many connections does the headset need?

it has only a USB connector.

Then there's nothing to.worry about as it doesn't use your board's Sound Chip anyway
