I have a dell optiplex 7010 with a 275w psu and i am looking to upgrade my graphics card. Should i go with a cheaper one and a new PSU or the more expensive one but stick with my current PSU?

Solution
Dell PSUs are UL rated to not catch fire. Most aftermarket are not. Dell PSUs are designed for reliable long term service in an environment of service contratcts, tech support, and extended warrantees.

People who actually test PSUs and publish their results have a different OPINION.
When the 265W in my Opti 380 ($20 ) computer was DOA I stuck a 10 year old 305W from an Opti 745 I had sitting around. Runs the GTX1050Ti just fine. If it was an aftermarket 275W PSU I would toss it as far as I could. Even 400W are mostly junk.

You are running very short. If your PSU doesnt blow up in 3 years i will retract my words and offer you an apology. But my prediction is that it will blow and hope not frying all the rest of your PC hardware.

I really hope you realise how low quality often OEM power supplies are and how dangerous is to put loads that they were not designed to handle. Wanna leave you with that.

Lmao i just wanna give up, if you wanna pass everyone's advice about changing your PSU is up to you, but i hope you are really aware that it can potentially cause a short and render all your hardware unusable more than a expensive paperweight.

The card doesnt need you to plug anything, its powered by the PCI Express slot, just plug it in and you are ready to go.
