Will a H100i fit in a corsair Carbide-spec-03? what are the perks of using a LC cooler vs a heat sink like the Evo 212 which everyone says is bad ass

Solution
It's not compatible. 🙁

Compatible Corsair Liquid Coolers Carbide-spec-03

Compatible Corsair Liquid Coolers

H55, H60, H75, H80i

That makes no sense, i see two 120mm fan slots at the top and 2 140/120mm fan slots in the front...

I have actually installed personally the H100I GTX Corsair Water Cooler in the Carbide-Spec-03 case, it was as tight fit, I put the radiator on, then the CPU cooler, and then the fans, and I couldn't get 1 fan screw in, but that's not gonna hurt anything, no case modding involved. And I would also recommend installing the CPU fan power cable on the motherboard first, I had a hard time getting mine in after the radiator was on, but I managed to do it!

The Coolermaster EVO-212 said it didn't fit either, but it fit when I installed it as well, but I changed it out to the Corsair AIO-WaterCooler because it was just not doing the job when I overclocked.

I have a picture it looks great.

Thanks for sharing that info and that photo.. I guess you can really put a 240 spec AIO cooler in there, you just have to take the MB's layout into account and sure that none of the VRM heatsink will hit the cooler's rad. Nonetheless, we'll have to revisit that compatibility and make sure it is accurate.

Absolutely. I'm not sure what you have for a CPU, but it keeps my 4790k nice and cool. It runs quite a bit cooler than my 2400k at stock speeds that it replaced on air.

Are you sure an H100i GTX will fit into a Carbide Spec-03? I just don't want my parts to arrive and not be compatible.

Did you modify the hoses? I have an H100i GTX myself and from looking at your picture, the hoses appear to be shorter than mine. Maybe it's just an optical illusion.

At the time I posted it I thought it would support it guaranteed. But now that I know it doesn't officially support it, I guess it would depend on if your mobo vrm heatsinks are in the way or not.

Change of plan, Keeping the H100i GTX, but going for a different case which has an extra recess on the top for 240/280mm rads.
