will a hdmi 2.0 video card work with a hdmi 1.4 tv

Simple question, would love a quick answer, "will a hdmi 2.0 video card be compatible with my older hdmi (assuming 1.4 standard) TV?

Not so with using a HDMI 2.0 TV with a 1.4 card, as Windows will try to run the card at 60fps, which ends up producing text with multi-coloured fringes.
You have to knock down the card output to 30fps.
