ive run into a bit of a problem ive been thinking of buying another rx 480 to crossfire with my current one but am not sure whether or not it will work. this is because my cpu support 16 lanes while my 480 in crossfire will both be using 8 which will fully occupie my lanes. will my cpu reduce the amount of lanes the cards use to allow for use of my wifi adapter?

wifi adapter - ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac
mobo - z170 gigabyte designare
gpu - rx 480 sapphire oc
cpu - i5 6600k

I would think your WIFI would be sharing the lanes from the 1x slots.

Either way.. I would steer clear of SLI\Xfire. The headaches lately feel like the same ones we got 5-6 years back.

I would just grab one of these cheap 1070 deals I have seen popping up everywhere and take a solid step away from the RX lineup.

thanks big help. just wanted to make sure it would run before i got anything and then figure out it wouldn't work.
