Will a n router work with a wireless g adapter

Hello, I have a E1000 N router and I was wondering if I can connect a G wireless adapter to it. I am trying to connect it with my Sanyo LED HDTV, it has the port for a USB but I can't seem to get it to connect. I've tried manually setting it up but I seem to have done it wrong. The reason for trying to connect to the television is Netflix. I learned that you can watch it instantly on your Tv, using the Blue-ray or a basic internet connection. The Blue-ray I currently have is not an acceptable brand, so I am trying the basic internet connection. I would appreciate it if I could receive instructions on how to get them to connect, (if possible). Thank you for your time.

Yes

check with Sanyo and find out if they require a special USB wireless adapter.
