Before we start. I will not be upgrading this pc in the future besides more ram or an ssd.

So long story short, I misunderstood my motherboard documentation and got a very expensive cpu that doesnt even work with it and now I have a extremely bottlenecked system.

It is for gaming but I don't care about super ultra settings jsut low - medium at 60 fps. I mainly play csgo. Thank you!

Depends on the game in cpu heavy titles like say bf1 yes you may see a bit of a cpu bottleneck. In CSGO i'm not sure I'm inclined to say no as I dont believe the version of the source engine used in csgo really makes good use of more than two cores.

The settings you can play at is more determined by the gpu, if you are cpu limited in a game changing the settings will only increase average and peak framreates, 0.1 and 1% lows will stay the same, which means if you are stuttering at high settings in a game due to an inadaquate cpu you will still likely stutter at low settings albeit with a higher average framerate.

Yeah, im noticing that with my current system. 10fps on ultra and low. Anyways, I can get a used i7 920 or a i5 2400 for about the same price would that be a better decision?

Neither will fit the same motherboard as a g3258. Your motherboard is socket 1150. What exact motherboard do you have?

MSI P6N SLI, Im getting a new mobo, just deciding the cpu first
