you are talking about a single card. Its a 980 with more vram. Nothing special really. The 295x2 cant do 1440p surround at 120hz on ultra settings in games. You would need to severely cripple some of the settings. Hell i run 2 HEAVILY overclocked 780ti's which run faster by a good bit than the 980's and in games like bf4 on my asus 144hz 1080p monitor it has trouble sometimes staying in the triple digits for fps. If im playing 64 man maps i sometimes i dip into the 90's for a second or two. Gpu technology hasnt got that fast yet. Sorry.

Thanks for the info. I think that I'll just do Titan X SLI and bite the bullet then to solve this problem. All the reviews are saying this is stellar compared to the GTX 980, but of course it is...everything new is better than everything old.
And of course people who have purchased it are gonna swear by it because they got suckered into buying more bs from nvidia and they don't want to admit being a sucker so they would rather hype up the nonsense they purchased.
I bet the 980 ti will crush the Titan X in price per performance but I don't think it will crush it in overall gaming performance. At least not by a real substantial number, unless you consider 10% clock increase substantial. The 780ti crushed the Titan because the Titan wasn't really geared towards gaming. Everything I've heard is that the Titan X is the fully unlocked GM200 chip and is geared towards the consumer. The 980ti won't have 12 GB's of VRam either. It will have a measly 6 GB's. 6 GB's isn't even enough to run some current games at MAX. SOM with the texture packs on ultra uses more than 6. Best believe future games will also use more VRam. The Titan X is the card to get, if you can afford it, until Pascal is released. Of course it also depends what resolution your running. I'll personally be waiting until the 2nd generation of Pascal cards to upgrade my Titan X. http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-ti-coming-summer/
Your budget seems nice if you are looking at 3 ROGs and Titan Xs. If you can wait there is a 144hz G-sync Curved Ultra-wide coming out from ACER which will be expensive but not as much or won't be as taxing on your system as 3 ROGs and will give a similar surround experience with higher FPS.
Wait did you say 6gb isnt enough to run current games at max? WTF are you playing? There isnt a game out there that pushed REALLY past 4gb. A card that has 12gb vram isnt geared for gamers. Its geared for the same crap the last titan was and thats rendering and editing. Just so happens it will do gaming pretty good too just like the last titan and now with the 980ti release announced for june it will do the same thing as the 780ti did. It will pull probably 10-15% increase in overall numbers especially when overclocked just like the 780ti did. Period. This is nvidias tactics and has been. Even with the 980ti beating the pants off the titanX there will still be suckers buying the titanX for gaming when it doesnt perform as good as a card thats gonna be a couple hundred cheaper. Nvidia knows the same suckers that buy their super high end cards just to say they have will do it again this time even when there is better stuff out there that outperforms.
And like i said the ones who were already suckered into buying the TitanX are really the only ones who will be defending that purchase just like the last titan. Its a good card for editing and stuff like that but to buy it strictly for gaming? Thats stupid.

Wait... How will the 980ti be beating the pants off the Titan X? If they are the same exact card, same fully unlocked card only one having less Vram. How will that lead to the 980ti beating the pants off the Titan X? If anything it'll be the exact same performance at a slightly lesser price. This is NOT the same thing that happened with the original Titan and the 780ti. The 780ti had parts unlocked that the Titan had locked and vice versa. Don't be mad and illogical because you can't afford the product. Oh and by the way, I don't own a Titan X, so I'm not some "sucker" who bought one, as you call them. However, I am someone who thinks with his head and not his a$$.....

I think it should also be pointed out that the original titan was not meant for gaming, it was targeted at design applications, the new titanX is optimized for gaming.
