will a splitter work for me?

Hey guys im running an r9 280x toxic edition and this thing needs 2 eight pins to power it and my psu only has one so i was wondering if i just put in a splitter to the 8 pin would that give me sufficient power for my gpu?

What PSU are you using? My initial guess would be that you need a new one.

Im running an evga 750 watt gold standard fully modular

I'm fairly certain that PSU should have more than one 8-pin cable, are you sure you don't have more? Remember that the cables are modular so you might not have attached all of them and they might be in storage somewhere.

Yea im positive only one 8 pin came in the box

No 6+2 pin cables? Well then, what cables do you have free (molex/sata/6-pin)? I wouldn't use a 8-pin to 2x8-pin adapter, but you could use something else.

As Eduello says do not use an 8 pin to two 8 pin splitter as you will overload it.
If you must use a splitter use a 8 pin to two molex one.
Best option would be to try and get an 8 pin modular cable from EVGA
