Will a USB WIFI adapter preform simular to my smart phone?

Will a decent USB dongle (With a nice antenna) perform just as well as my phone does?

With a nice antenna? Probably better. What are you looking at? How much distance between you and the modem? Option to go wired?
Personally i use a ASUS USB-AC51 and it's atleast as good as my phone if not better. Doesn't even have an antenna or anything.
