[SOLVED] Will a VGA to DVI-I work on an old VGA only monitor?

I've got an hd 7950 that doesn't have a VGA port but my monitor only has a single VGA port. Will a DVI-I work or DVI-D will do the trick? I'm confused which one does what

DVI-I contains the analog signals needed to drive a VGA monitor. DVI-D is digital only.

Second to the above, as long as you have those female pins on the right, it should work.
