Will a vga to hdmi cable work for me?

I bought gtx 1060 6gb with a Asrock AB350 mobo.But I have a HP w1972a..lol.It doesn't support HDMI.And it's highest resoulution is 1366 x 768.Now will a vga to hdmi converter cable work for me?Even if its work ho will it be?

DVI would be better than VGA though does it support DVI instead?

Specs of your monitor says, it has DVI input. Use that.
If you wanted to use VGA input, then you'd need HDMI to VGA adapter (not VGA to HDMI - that's opposite direction for your required signal conversion).
