Will a wired Xbox 360 controller with a PC without requiring any extra adapter.

Hi, I have an old wireless xbox 360 controller right now and I was told that I would need an xbox360 wireless dongle for it to work on a PC running Windows 10. How about the 360 wired controller, will I need an additional hardware to make it work on my pc?

I don't own a wired controller at the moment but since my wireless cont. is needing a replacement, it would be cheaper for me to buy the wired controller to replace the old one IF there is no additional hardware needed.

You shouldn't. My 360 wired controller was plug-and-play on W7, which leads me to believe it will be on W10.

Alright then I'm buying the wired version. Just out of curiosity, when you said adapter, are you talking about the 360 wireless dongle or just the regular wireless pci adapter?

Specifically the 360 wireless dongle. For the Xbox One controller you'd need the newer Xbox wireless adapter.
