Not all memory will work with any motherboard.

It helps to buy ram that is listed on the support page as it has been tested to work with the motherboard and in the case of that board, with specific CPU. You are less likely to run into problems this way.

if you find ram that isn't on support page but the ram maker says works on board, you might find yourself in situation where MB maker says to look at QLV and Ram maker says it works, and you stuck in middle not getting an answer that helps.

If the ram on list has been replaced by a newer stick from the same manufacturer with almost an identical model code, then you can probably use it. As ram models get updated but the motherboard lists aren't.
