Will am3+ motherboard support am3 socket processors?

I have got a big problem..
plz help...
I have AM3 processor(AMD Semphron 145 , 2.8 ghz) , and my doubt is will it be be supported my am3+ socket motherboard like ASUS M5A78L-M LX V2 Motherboard..?

Yes if it is a modern one. Really only a good video card in the system would call for more.

no my PSU is of 2004 year model....
so it means I need to upgrade to 400-450W

If you are using the board with low grade GPU and not filling it full of drives and other things then most likely it is going to work fine just as long as it has 24 pin and 4 pin power cables for the board .
