A couple days ago a guy bought a Athlon 64 socket 939 and crammed it into his AM2 mo-bo socket. It did seem to make a very tight fit without bending pins. But he claimes when he turned it on he heard a "pop" & then the unit was dead. I guess that means it's possible to wire your plumbing 110v but that doesn't mean it will work just because you forced the connection.

If you have a ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 mobo it has an expansion slot for a AM2 CPU Board with its own DDR2 memory slots to accomodate enough ............. this from ASRock webpage ...

AM2CPU Board
The AM2CPU Board is an CPU upgrade module for ASRock K8/939 series motherboard with Future CPU Port. The AM2CPU Board contains AM2 940-pin socket, Dual Channel DDRII DIMM slots and independent power input, which provides a quick upgrade capability from socket 754/939 to socket 940(AM2)CPU.
