I currently have a Gigabyte Z97X SLI motherboard, a Intel Core i5-4670k 3.4ghz processor, one NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770, two Ripjaws 8GBXL ram cards, one Corsair H80I V2 liquid cooler, and a Rosewill RBR 1000-M power supply. I would like to replace the processor with an Intel Core i7-4790K, I would also like to change the graphics card to a GTX 980 TI, and although I did not list it above, I would like to upgrade my current monitor to one that supports 144hz. So my question is, considering what I already have, can I make these upgrades without having to upgrade anything else? Like power supply or memory? I mainly use my PC for gaming, so would these changes better my gaming experience? Sorry for the long question(s), I just want to make sure I can do these upgrades without having complications which later require me to upgrade something else, thanks for the help!
Last question, I also want to upgrade my case, if you happen to know if the components I want would fit better in a Corsair Obsidian 750D or a Carbide Clear 600CC please let me know, thanks!

Solution
did you update the bios for the latest version? (not the beta one)
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5100#bios

get the gtx 1070 instead gtx 980 ti since you will have 5% better performance in gaming and is more power efficient

a good 144hz monitor is BenQ XL2420Z(hard to find) or Asus VG248QE

personaly i own a Carbide Clear 600C ..and this case is beautyful and use a reverse atx to show your gpu fans and led lighting when pc run ...good airflow

everythings will work ...144hz monitor -z97 motherboard -i7 4790K ...do you have a good aftermarket cpu cooler?

Solution
1st of all this is gaming rig so my recommendations are:

    ■ GTX 1070 series was tested equal to GTX 980 ti www.pcgamer.com/the-geforce-gtx-1070-review/. Unless you can find cheaper 980 ti, at $450 GTX 1070 against $600 GTX 980 ti.
    ■ 4670K is suffice, what you need is better static pressure fans for H80i, such as corsair ML series or noctua 2000 RPM. Most modern 3D PC game utilize as much as quad core CPU at 3GHz. You'll get extra around 10 frames per second with 4790K.
    ■ Suitable UPS, power related components (VRM, mosfet, and capacitor) of your motherboard will be prone to damage upon power out, you should allocate budget for new CPU to good 1000w UPS.

Optional

    ■ Mechanical keyboard, and gaming mouse equipped with extra programmable buttons. You can start new thread about what different between regular k/b+mouse to gaming k/b+ gaming mouse.
    ■ Get G-Sync display, it is pricier than 144 Hz 1 ms display, you can post later in forum about why G-Sync monitor over 144 Hz 1 ms gaming monitor.
    ■ Get M.2 SSD such as samsung 950 pro, will help faster scene loading.
