i'm using an HP Pavilion Elite HPE, not sure about its series number but the case looks like this one in the picture down below, i recently upgraded the graphics card, now i want to save for another upgrade if possible but my budget is tight, i was thinking of keeping the Case and the 400W PSU and of course the GPU (all of these will be upgraded later), but right now i will be getting only a CPU and its MOBO and DDR4 ram, i'm hoping for one of the Ryzen 5 CPUs (3600/5500/5600G/5600) , so i'm wondering if there are some budget AM4 motherboards that will fit in this HP case with no problem, thanks in advance.

The aspect that I would have concern about are the connectors for mobo power. HP often uses proprietary connectors. You would want to check to see if you have a standard 24 pin and (typically) a 4 or more pin for the CPU power. If the case has a standard ATX opening and size for it, you could change to a 'standard' power supply to solve the issue (if they present) or there are adapters that can be used.

You can readily look up the standoff pattern for the motherboards actual screwed down fitment.

not sure if this infos will help but my PSU is "DPS-400MB-1 A" and my MOBO is "H55H-M V1.1"
so what do you think? would AM4 MOBOs fit in my HP case and work with my PSU with no problem?

It appears that the power supply pictured above has a standard 24 pin as well as a 4 pin for CPU. Where it is hard to judge scale, it also appears to be an ATX format.

Keep in mind the low output, age, and likely quality of that unit. IDK what your new graphics card is, but that power supply is far less than optimal for anything modern short super low power systems.

It's an old Delta OEM PSU which is acceptable for what it was used with, but it's almost certainly old and it's group regulated (only 340W of +12V power). Hard to say much about it without actually knowing which GPUs we're talking about. It may not even be safe with your current GPU, but again, you left out that information.

On the psu side, an H55H-M, if that is your motherboard, ought to be a fairly standard motherboard as it's an ECS motherboard that was available in the aftermarket. So a standard uATX motherboards *ought to* work in case that used that motherboard and it likely uses a standardized PSU. But always verify just in case ECS made a variant for HP (see if there's a 24-pin motherboard port and a 4-pin CPU port).

I'm not sure what the lure of the case is. The airflow looks horrific.

well my i7-860 works fine with this PSU and it is using +90W, as for my GPU it's GTX 1050 TI LP, and my motherboard is the version 1.1, meaning it's "H55H-M V1.1" the black one not "H55H-M" the green one, and yes it has 24 pin and 4 pin exactly as shown in the picture i shared above for the PSU, with this information is it safe to conclude that a budget AM4 like "MSI A520M-A PRO" or "MSI B450M-A PRO MAX" would fit in my case and works with my PSU?

Revision numbers dont' tend to be big changes.

The 1050 Ti may be OK, but a GPU upgrade may not be. The motherboards listed *ought* to work with the case.
