I found a 16 gauge male 8 pin connector but

i can't find a female 16 gauge 8 pin connector unless i have one made or something. I was only able to find the male cable.

I could make my own cable but id rather just buy one it saves time.

What is the make and model of your PSU and are you working with another PSU's cable kit/harness? If you're asking about the gauge of wire, they're all usually 16AWG~18AWG but please be wary that not all PSU's have the same pinout so you shouldn't transplant another PUS's harness onto another modular PSU.

I could make my own cable but id rather just buy one it saves time.
The question is, why are you needing said cable? If your PSU is lacking the necessary connectors for your build you either have;
a| The wrong PSU for the job
or
b| The wrong components for the build.

Im using a HDPLEX HIFI DC-ATX 500 watt

https://hdplex.com/hdplex-500w-hi-fi-dc-atx-power-supply-12v-48v-wide-range-voltage-input.html

It only comes with a Custom 8 pin Barrel Cable.

It runs on 12-48v

I had the modular ports removed professionally and i am soldering my own wires in. I am going to have a 16 gauge 8 pin connector soldered in.

That barrel cable won't work for higher inputs greater than 330watts.

If you zoom in on the sheath(insulated part) of the wire with the markings on it, that's 18AWG, weren't you supposed to go with 16AWG? I would fabricate a custom length of cable alongside the right connector. You can source connectors/terminals from MDPC-X;

Now I'm curious, why do you need that much power input on that power brick? What's preventing you from going with an ATX PSU? What will the input for the PSU be if you're removing the barrel connector? I think you're overthinking this since modders like Joshua Sniffen over at NFC-Systems uses the same PSU on his build without modifying the power brick nor the barrel connector, assuming this is for a PC.

Thanks for your reply

I found a 16 gauge cable but it was only the Male cable and couldn't find the female cable. But in the end, i found the 16 gauge female cable

So i have all the cables i need male and female 16 gauge

I am going to run 16 gauge cables. And you are right i could have gone with lower voltage and lower current and run the original barrel cable.

But i don't know how much power i really need, Can't calculate my pc build well I may only need 400 watts or less

I was told by a representative at HDPLEX that the power supply runs more efficient at higher voltages, 24v-48v so i decided to run the higher voltage.

I was never told the current max per voltage. I was told to stay below 40amps but i think they were refering to 12 volts.

So I, along with everyone on here who i have talk to, have assumed that its 500 watts or 550 watts to be the maximum amperage but i am still uncertain of that.

There website should list the max amperage per voltage the power supply could take as input.

So the voltages and amperage's i was going to run are 27v 18.50 amp 499.5 watts and 24v 18.8amp 451 watts.

I was most likely just going to use the 24v 18.8 amp 451 watts cause i think it would be safer since i don't know the power supply amperage limit.

I have a MEAN WELL LOP-500-27 AC-DC and a MEAN WELL SE-450-24

The second 1 is much easier to use, it is cheaper and more common,
