what's your rig? If you have enough cores a scan won't impact it. But any AV doing a scan in the middle of a game can cause some CPU resources and disk resources to be lower, of course.

The main game I’m using is black Squad, basically a free ripoff of Cs:Go. My system held together just fine when dedicated to gaming in this game with no lag.
Some specs are:
Pentium G4560 (w/ hyperthreading)
Gpu: Gtx 1050
Well, considering bitdefender is rather minimalistic in terms of bloatware and scanning procedures and other crap not to be mentioned (comparing this to IObit on my old laptop, “thanks HP”), it should be fine...I hope. I will do some benchmarking though. Thanks for the tips.
