I would strongly recommend this solution as it has an onboard processor so it doesn't rely on your CPU at all and it encodes files on the fly so your file size wont huge.
It might but just slightly, as a capture card wont utilize any of your CPU/GPU throughout the recording process. Also if you stream, it will be much more efficient.

But doesn't it record off it own power instead of using the gpu and cpu?
